Q: Where are you located?
A: The physical address of the boat is: 708 Harbor Road, Wanchese, N.C. 27981. We are located in slip number 13. Click here for a map that will get you within 50 feet of the boat.
Q: How many people can you carry?
A: The ‘Doghouse” is U.S. Coast Guard certified to carry up to 12 passengers. All of your trip cost covers up to 6 customers. Each person after the 6th on an offshore trip is $150.00/per. Each person on an offshore bottom trip is $150.00/per. Each person after the 6th on an inshore trip is $50.00/per.
Q: How do we pay?
A: You may pay by check, visa, master card, cash, or travelers check
Q: How do I keep from being sea sick?
A: We are not Dr.’s! However, we have noticed that people who take Meclizine or use the Scop patch do not suffer from the effects of motion like those who do not. Meclizine is available by prescription or the over-the-counter version is Bonine. The Scop patch is available by prescription. IN EVERY SITUATION, WE ADVISE CONSULTING YOUR FAMILY PHYSICIAN!!!!!!!!!!!!! A FEW EXTRA MOMENTS CAN SAVE YOUR TRIP OF A LIFETIME. We encourage our customers to get a good night sleep, eat early, and eat a little something in the morning, before going fishing. Starting your oral medication a couple of days ahead of time seems to work the best and again we recommend that you consult your family doctor before taking any medication.
Q: What do we need to bring?
A:Food, drink, sunscreen, hat, and some layered clothing. Ice is provided, as well as all bait, and tackle.
Q: What do we do with the fish we catch?
A: The fish you catch belong to you. Bring some extra empty coolers with you to store your catch. We will ice it for you. If there is more than you can handle, please do not let it go to waste! The crew can accommodate any extra fish. There are many around our community who love fish, and would love to have some.
Q: Is it customary to tip the mate?
A: Yes, it is customary and appreciated to tip your mate 18-20 percent of the cost of the trip. Our mates work hard for you and they work for your gratuity.
