Trip Information
There are a couple of different kinds of trips that we run on the Doghouse. Full day offshore trips are the biggest part of our business. That is the reason we built the boat as big, safe, and stable as we could. These trips are generally about 10 to 12 hours long, and the species we target are: Tuna, Marlin, Dolphin (the fish), Wahoo, and King Mackeral.
During the winter, we run full day trips for ocean Stripers, commonly called Rockfish.
This year we started running ½ day trips for some of our customers. This has become a very popular trip. The species caught on these trips are Bluefish, Spanish Mackeral, Flounder, and various small bottomfish. Cobia and Red Drum are caught during the spring and fall. This particular trip works for many of our customers because we don’t get out of sight of land and we aren’t gone a full day.
The offshore bottom trip has become very popular also. This is basically a full day trip in which you deep drop to catch Grouper, Tilefish, Sea Bass, and Snapper.
Prices.
Full day offshore: $1600 for up to 6 passengers. Each passenger over the 6th is $150.00.
½ day trips: $750.00 for up to 6. Each person over 6 is $50.00.
We also offer an evening cruise from 5:00pm - 7:30pm. Cruise price is $450
The deposit to hold your date is $250.00 and must be paid within 2 weeks of booking your date. If you book within 2 weeks of fishing, you must have a credit card to hold the deposit. Credit cards are gladly accepted but there is a $50 surcharge which is a bankcharge that is passed on to you. Deposits are accepted by cash, check, or travelers check.
