5 days ago by Doghouse Sportfishing on the Outer Banks of NCI thought teaching her to play Rummy would help pass some time, when she felt up to it. Dumb idea. 15 straight hands looked like this. 2 draws, and she crushed me. Again. A bad day, yesterday, but she pulled out of the dive last night. A good night's sleep, and a good nap. Two straight days of 0 ANC. Yesterday p.m. showed some growth. Only 12, but something. 24, this a.m. a target of 500, before discharge, but you have to start somewhere. Sitting back, letting Him do His thing. He is Able.3 days ago

6 days ago by Doghouse Sportfishing on the Outer Banks of NCLouis, and his crew came to try their hand this past weekend. Only two of us made it out, and we couldn't get on much. Lots of fish, deep, but they weren't biting. The weather calmed down Monday, and they went to nibbling. Spelled mama, and I'm back with Baby Girl. She was feeling better yesterday, and wore my butt out playing rummy. Playing the waiting game. Thank you all for keeping her, and us, lifted up.6 days ago
By the Grace of Jesus. I pray he pours his love all over your family like a never ending waterfall. We send our Prayers for your Daughters healing and may you stay booked all year. I pray your lines stay tight bud. You Got my boy Caine with ya so I know Gods blessings will flow. Godspeed brother!

I am supposed to be coming down tomorrow night to fish Thursday and Friday with a buddy but weather isn’t looking to good. Hope it changes 180 for us.
1 week ago by Doghouse Sportfishing on the Outer Banks of NCSometimes He just gives you those days. Baby girl received her stem cells, yesterday. Mama made it back up, and we passed the baton. I got home in time to visit with the boys. A long-time customer, and good friend, Jim Rowe was on the book for today, and what a day he had. We caught a keeper, setting out, then a nice yellowfin, out of a few bites, and we landed our trophy fish, for the year, in the bottom of the ninth. Thank you, all, for the prayers, and messages.1 week ago
Good things to come Shack prayers every day my friend God Bless each and everyone of you.1 week ago

2 weeks ago by Doghouse Sportfishing on the Outer Banks of NCI'm sorry I have been unavailable, and have not thanked everyone who has contacted us, and have been petitioning Him, on our behalf. Thank you. Audra, and I, checked Boo into CHKD last Wed to finish the final leg. She had already gone through 4 cycles of treatment, and Wednesday began her 7 day, consecutive, period of chemo, leading up to her stem cell transplant, tomorrow, GLW. Her attitude is great, but the cumulative effects of so much chemo are catching up with her.
The hospital is an incredible place that shows no bias in race, gender, or socio-economic status. The level of care, and the attitude of the entire staff, from custodians, to Dr.'s, is unparalleled we could never begin to thank this facility, enough.
Many have shown a concern about my relationship. God, and I were wrestling, but He won. We have come too far to turn back, now. We possibly have 3 more weeks in the hospital, and 100 days of reduced contact with others, and Boo's natural environment: horses, chickens, a pig, dirt, and dog.
My wife consistently says "it is only a season".
Boo is afforded some great conversations with the nurses, about the fact that she only has one more semester, before she puts the RN name tag on. She will have an incredible testimony.
I thank Caine for covering the days I am up here. Audra, and I, trade back out, tomorrow. The rock star moves back into the game. My girls are rocks, and us boys are going to be glad to have them back home. He is still in the business, and He does not slumber.1 week ago
God Bless your family. I pray that our good Lord will lay his hands on your daughter and heal her body.1 week ago
It is a great hospital Cap! You’re family in our thoughts and prayers. I work next door at Norfolk General. If y’all need ANYTHING, don’t hesitate to ask!2 weeks ago
I’m sorry that anyone would show concern about your relationship with your Heavenly Father. Seems to me like that’s your business, not anyone else’s. Keep the faith, fight the good fight. And know that many are praying for you.

Love you all and send hugs to my G2!2 weeks ago
We serve a mighty, mighty God and he is right there with you all. Praying for complete healing and restoration!
2 weeks ago by Doghouse Sportfishing on the Outer Banks of NCWhen He asks you to have just a little Faith, sometimes it is easier said, than done. A failure by Nat Geo, and production to negotiate a fair deal, after 5 years of carrying the water, a blown motor, clutch, a problem with the new motor, a wrecked paint schedule, and a little knot that made every bit of that seem like nothing, and bring me to my knees.
One semester away from being the best R.N., ever, and Baby Girl is fighting, again. Things don't seem to matter, when your sunshine is sick, and the heaviness of it makes your heart hurt.
I didn't feel like praying, and I didn't feel like reading my bible one morning, but I did. I was angry, and I couldn't get past the "why", of it all.
I didn't want to read about David, and Goliath, but I did.
The fear was there, and the doubt was there, but David's Faith is what defined him. After rebuking the giant, David RAN to meet the battle. We can't run it for you, Baby Girl, but I promise we're running with you. I can't even imagine what giant plans He has for you. I love you.2 weeks ago
Its ok to be frustrated and even angry with God sometimes. He knows we dont understand His timing and why He allows these trials in our lives. But He is compassionate to us in our weaknesses. God knew WAY before today what your trials would be and how your heart would ache. It has come as no surprise to Him. Your steps are ordered and he knew you before you were ever born. He PROMISES us a way to get safely to the other side of these storms and trials. We HAVE to trust His heart even when we cant understand, even when we are discouraged. Know this, THOUSANDS of us will be lifting you, your precious daughter, and family. You are not alone, and will never be. God be with you and remember HIS GRACE IS SUFFICIENT !2 weeks ago
Praying God will make a way through this stormy sea. You are running on His strength, and I pray all of you are already starting to feel a peace that passes understanding from the many prayers lifting you up as you walk this with her and Jesus.2 weeks ago

3 weeks ago by Doghouse Sportfishing on the Outer Banks of NCWe were blessed to end, just like we started. We had to replace a motor, reinstall clutch lines, after the clutch dumped all her oil, and we had to tear into the top of our brand new motor, when a nozzle blew out. Lots of trials, and tests, but we persevered, and had a great season. I'm sorry you won't be able to see it. Come check us out.3 weeks ago

5 weeks ago by Doghouse Sportfishing on the Outer Banks of NCNot even a crank, and off she went. 3 days, from start, to finish. Gregory Poole, Jack Shafer, and JJ were excellent. Jeff Hathaway, and Kevin, with the "boom of doom", and Michael Mann, on the crane. Bluewater Marine, and Wildcat propeller, for the carrier service. Takes a lot of parts, working together, to get it done. Another temporary setback, for a long-term improvement. Off, again, TYJ.5 weeks ago

5 weeks ago by Doghouse Sportfishing on the Outer Banks of NCA dropped valve was a major roll-stopper. Contrary to what some may tell you, people are spending some money, and my mechanic is 3 months out. Every other one, in the area, is, also. Gotta get back to work, so we went in the garage, and got out the spare. We hauled, and turned her loose one afternoon. We removed the old one, and replaced it with the new one, yesterday. Hooking up, today. GLW we'll be boat riding, tomorrow. Blessed to have some great people, gettin' it done! Nowhere, but Wanchese. I'll post some good video, later. Getting grease on my keys.5 weeks ago
